On January 24, 2016 Kyle was home due to a snowstorm and playing video games with his younger brother. One minute he was a seemingly healthy, aside from asthma, 24 year old. The next minute he collapsed in his mother’s arms. She fervently performed CPR to no avail. Kyle passed away in his mother’s arms. Kyle died of Cardiomyopathy resulting in Sudden Cardiac Arrest. His family never thought SCA happens to seemingly healthy children. His family had no idea that seemingly healthy children were at risk with little or no warning signs. Kyle’s Cardiomyopathy was not hereditary it was caused by the steroids used to treat his asthma. The foundation was created to share Kyle’s story with others, raise awareness and help prevent other families from the loss and pain of losing a child to SCA.
